Here’s a brief rundown of coffees that come from different regions of the world:- Central America Coffees from Central America are usually light-bodied; body referring to the thickness or feeling in the mouth. They are said to have a crisp and bold taste, whilst feeling lighter in the mouth than Indonesian coffee. South America This coffee is quite close in region to Central America, but the South American coffees tend to have a slightly heavier body than the Central American coffee. South American coffee has a crisp, bold taste with slightly peculiar aromas and overtones. Africa Coffee originated in Africa, with flavours ranging from sweet, spicy, fruity and exotic. Coffee experts often seek out African coffee due to its unique aromas and overtones, whilst people still new to coffee would perhaps find the flavours a little odd. Indonesia Coffee from this region is very full flavoured with a heavy body and has a long finish. Most of the coffee grown in Indonesia is highly prized for both taste and its smooth finish. There’s not much gourmet coffee produced in this area.; even though gourmet beans are rare, the price of the coffee is usually relatively low due to its non-popularity. |
