Chocolate covered coffee beans |
|
If you’ve never tried chocolate covered coffee beans before, then you’re in for a real treat. Yummy chocolate on the outside with a crunchy, caffeine-filled bean on the inside. These are great for a Valentine’s day present, or to give you an extra boost on a long road trip.
Ingredients - 1/3 cup freshly roasted coffee beans
- ½ cup dark chocolate (milk chocolate is fine if you prefer)
- cocoa powder for decoration (optional)
Method
1. Melt the chocolate in the microwave, stirring every 15-30 seconds.
2. Once the chocolate is smooth, let it cool for minute or two, then mix in the roasted coffee beans and stir.
3. Lay the coffee beans out on some wax paper on a tray, and use a fork to separate the beans.
4. Let the coffee beans cool on the tray – you can put them in the freezer to speed up the process.
Note – You can drizzle some white chocolate over the coffee beans for decoration if you wish, or alternatively you can place them in a bowl or bag and dust them with cocoa powder.
